Isabel Original International Fashions are all original designs created by designer Isabel Lopez Murtha. Isabel came to America in 1992 from her native country of Colombia in pursuit of her dream to design fashions that accentuated the sensual curves of a woman s body, captured in a spirit of elegance.
Isabel has been most influenced by Italian designers Versace and Cavalli. Isabel had a passion for design even as young girl, creating designs for her dolls and taking classes in sewing and fashion design in her local community of Palmira, Colombia. As a teenager, Isabel created her own designs and promoted them herself with her own fashion shows at local establishments. She attended the Esmoda School of fashion Design in Cali, Colombia, graduating in 1990, and also studied fashion design at the Burdette School here in Boston, Massachusetts in 1995.
Isabel produced and sponsored her first fashion show here in the United States in 1995. Using all her own original designs, she has since produced fashion shows each year, exhibiting the Original fashions” summer collection”. In 1998, Isabel s Original designs were featured in the “Miss Mundo Colombia Beauty pageant’ in Manhattan, New York.
In addition to her own annual fashion shows, Isabel s Original designs have also been featured by the Viva Modeling Agency of Boston (Isabel also modeled for this agency). And the Latina Modeling Agency of Boston. Isabel s Designs have been featured in many special events in the Boston area, including the Hair Fx Studio Tenth Anniversary Fashion Show help at Avalon nightclub in Boston in May of 2003.
Despite the great adversities faced by many immigrants to this country, Isabel has never lost her passion for design or lost sight of her dreams to have her designs won by women around the word.
